Uploading a File
You can upload files inside articles and and attach a hyperlink so that others may view and/or the download files — just follow steps below in the Text Editor:
- In the text editor, type the name you want the file to be linked from, for instance My Presentation
- Select name you just typed with the text cursor, e.g. My Presentation
- Click the link tool
in the Text Editor toolbar - In the pop-up window, click the third tab
(see illustration above right for details) - Click the
button and specify the file on your computer to be uploaded - Click the
button - Click the
button, and the hyperlinked text will be linked to the file you just
uploaded, e.g. "My Presentation"
Please note: Common Web-readable files (e.g. Acrobat PDF, MPEG, QuickTime MOV, Windows Media and MP3) upload just fine as described above. For non-Web readable, desktop-only file formats (such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other desktop-only formats) we recommend first archiving into a ZIP (i.e. "*.zip") file prior to uploading it as described above.
