Uploading a File

Uploading a File

You can upload files inside articles and and attach a hyperlink so that others may view and/or the download files — just follow steps below in the Text Editor:

  1. In the text editor, type the name you want the file to be linked from, for instance My Presentation

  2. Select name you just typed with the text cursor, e.g. My Presentation

  3. Click the link tool  in the Text Editor toolbar
  4. In the pop-up window, click the third tab (see illustration above right for details)
  5. Click the button and specify the file on your computer to be uploaded
  6. Click the button
  7. Click the  button, and the hyperlinked text will be linked to the file you just
    uploaded, e.g. "My Presentation"

Please note: Common Web-readable files (e.g. Acrobat PDF, MPEG, QuickTime MOV, Windows Media and MP3) upload just fine as described above. For non-Web readable, desktop-only file formats (such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other desktop-only formats) we recommend first archiving  into a ZIP (i.e. "*.zip") file prior to uploading it as described above.
